Our husky mix, Berry, did a 4 week board and train with Koru and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I was hesitant to spend so much on training our dog, and I felt like I should be able to do it on my own, but it was worth every penny. After two years of “training” on my own, we were all exhausted and frustrated. Berry is boisterous and stubborn and extremely persistent, and I just did not know how to get her to listen to me. She ran our household and pestered our other dog. She resource guarded her toys, and would get into real fights with our other timid dog, even requiring him to get stitches once. We were at our wits end. Enter Koru. Berry is a different dog, in the best way. At first when she came home from training I was worried we wouldn’t be able to keep it up, but it has gone so well. The first few weeks of being home we were instructed to keep up the structure and training to really make sure that Berry understands, these boundaries still stand and we aren’t going back to the same old ways. Now, more than a month out, we have relaxed our structure a lot and Berry still knows what is expected of her. Our trainer, Paige, has been so patient, helpful and available whenever we have questions, or want to make sure I’m getting the nuances right, even though I’m sure she’s told me already! If you are even thinking about it, do it! During the four weeks Berry was gone, life was so easy and peaceful, I was worried that when she got home, even with the training, that would be gone! But I can tell you it is not! Our other dog is so much more confident being out and about in our home- no longer hiding in the bathroom to escape her pestering. And we are able to love on and enjoy both of our dogs. Our home is peaceful and I could not be more thrilled! Thank you Paige, and thank you Koru!
